Katherine Nazzaro, “Tremors”

Tonight’s audio post is a reading from volume 14’s own editor, Katherine Nazzaro. She reads her poem “Tremors,” which can be found on page 110 of “The Bridge” volume 14, as well as after the cut.

All my metaphors are built on fault lines.
There’s a quaking under my skin,
and I can’t explain it.
In some ways I think it’s always been there.

I am built on a foundation of rubble,
shaken apart so many times
I’m not sure there’s anything
left behind.
