What is your creative focus?
My creative focus is very illustrative. I love vector art and using my ipad and pen to draw. I like to draw things that move me, as do most artists. The main subjects that have been piquing my interest are nature, people, animals, climate change, and plastic pollution.
What kind of submissions grab your attention?
I am looking for originality. Personally, I am a sucker for a good Sci-Fi or Fantasy. I want to see submissions that feel true to the author and can translate well to the readers.
What makes you smile?
Sunsets—something that is easily passed as just another part of the day. Sunsets are so beautiful and calming. My cat and two dogs also make me smile.
What is your favorite book?
Black Leopard Red Wolf by Marlon James. It is a fantasy book that came out this year, and I could not put it down.
Kelsey Long is a senior double majoring in Graphic Design and Accounting. Kelsey loves art and expressing herself through illustration. She is passionate about the environment and many of her works portray the ideas of reducing waste to help fight climate change. When she is not hitting the books, she is doodling throughout the day and spending time in nature. You can catch her in the art building trying to be as creative as possible.
